Travelling and filming in Laos turns out to be much different than someone imagines who had never really been to Asia. And the faszinations are the details hidden behind a normal way of life. You don´t find a lot of untouched virgin forests or indigenous tribes like in some parts of Southamerica. But if you wander off the streets and try to dig into the real Laos, than you will be richly awarded, especially when you are willing to ignorethe language barrier. As the people are extremely friendly and let you take views into their private areas and houses you are able to capture astoningly footage of deep human emotions. Unfortunatley we didn´t spend enough time in each great place we discovered. But for sure we discovered some special people as our friends in Attapeau, Southern Laos (in the Vietnam war this place served as the Laos base for the US Army), who run a little restaurant and supermarket right on the road. He is truly a special character, one of a kind, representing a way of life, lost to most Westerners today.
